Larry Ukali Johnson-Redd
Larry Ukali Johnson-Redd is an accomplished author, poet, educator, and advocate, known for his impactful work on cultural, political, and social issues, particularly those affecting African American and African communities. A native of San Francisco, California, he has dedicated much of his life to education, empowerment, and social justice.
Larry is the author of eight books, which explore themes of African identity, heritage, the African diaspora, and the social challenges faced by marginalized communities. Some of his notable works include The Black Expatriate in Africa, Journey to the Motherland: From San Francisco to Benin City – An Autobiographical Novel, History to Destiny Through Afrocentric Poetry, and Loving Black Women: Essays and Spoken Word. His writings advocate for cultural pride, unity, and resilience, while addressing systemic racism and oppression.
In addition to his writing, Larry is a sought-after speaker and communicator, regularly engaging in public speaking, interviews, and media appearances. He holds Master’s Degrees in Public Administration and Educational Administration, along with an Administrative Credential from the University of San Francisco, Golden Gate University, and San Francisco State University.
